With the opening of maiBeck in the historical Old Town of Cologne, a new quality in the culture ofdining and drinking finds its way into the heart of the metropolis on the Rhine.
Top gastronomy without any gimmicks, excellent food and handpicked wines without any elitist frills.
A restaurant for every day, a venue for a special occasion, a spot where you can just feel comfortable and enjoy. That’s exactly what “maiBeck für dich” represents.
Two chefs with experience in absolutely first-class restaurants are realizing a restaurant concept which, rooted in the tradition of young European bistronomic culture, celebrates ambitious, creative cuisine in a relaxed urban atmosphere.
The framework for this are superb wines from vineyards they know personally in Germany, France and Italy, freshly tapped Heller’s organic Kölsch beer, finest espresso from the coffee roaster VAN DYCK in Cologne-Ehrenfeld as well as homemade delicatessen and selected products that can be bought directly at maiBeck. The initiators, Jan Meier and Tobias Becker, who have given their name to this ambitious project, have joined forces again for the first time since they worked together at Gut Lärchenhof in Pulheim, after years of hands-on experience in successful gastronomic projects worldwide. From October 2013 they will be in culinary partnership at the foot of Cologne Cathedral.
